Aiming for Air Assault

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE — Airmen have been pushing themselves to the limits this week as they undergo a qualification assessment for Army Air Assault School.

The assessment has been a four-day event requiring a group of Moody AFB airmen to learn various skills, including being able to tie an emergency rappel harness and perform multiple rappels.

Day three saw airmen go to Camp Blanding in Florida to perform physical conditioning tests and to complete an Army obstacle course.

To complete the week, the group will have a 12-mile march in full gear in less than three hours followed by an inspection checking their attention to detail.

Airmen who successfully complete the assessment will have the opportunity to attend U.S. Army Air Assault School as slots become available.
