Moody joint training at Grand Bay

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE — Joint training will take place over Grand Bay Bombing and Gunnery Range, 8-11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6.

If training is cancelled or delayed due to weather, the training will be moved to 8-11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, according to a press release from Moody Air Force Base 23rd Wing Public Affairs.

Excess noise may be heard throughout Valdosta and surrounding areas due to the training, overseen by Moody range control specialists, according to the press release.

Military personnel regularly use the range and its surrounding airspace Monday through Friday during various hours for tactical air and ground maneuvers, as well as weapons training. The U.S. Air Force Reserve also uses the range and airspace on specified weekends.
