Operated by the state of Georgia and FEMA, the Lowndes County Disaster Recovery Center in Valdosta will close permanently at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 31. Face-to-face help for residents affected by Hurricane Idalia is still available at centers in Adel and Quitman.
