A Live Oak man has been arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing a venomous reptile without a license, among other charges, jail records show.

Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Sammons of the Suwannee County Drug Task Force arrested 41-year-old Joseph Keith Platt, of 11604 235th Road, Aug. 20, after a search of Platt’s home revealed items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine, including pseudoephed pills, lithium batteries, camp fuel, acetone, drain cleaner, muratic acid, tin foil, coffee filters, acrylic tubing and denatured alcohol, according to reports. Additional searches turned up methamphetamine, methamphetamine pipes, ecstasy pills and pot, say authorities.

SCSO Chief Deputy Ron Colvin said Platt was also keeping a rattlesnake in his home without a license.

Platt was also charged with possession of listed chemicals, possession of a loaded 12-gauge shotgun by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of ecstasy-MDMA, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest without violence.

Platt was booked into the Suwannee County Jail.
