Mrs. Mathis Miller Cheeseborough

Mrs. Mathis Miller Cheeseborough was born on Feb. 17, 1931 to the late Mr. Hayes and Dannie Miller. She was married to the late Theo Cheeseborough. At an early age, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior where she was a loyal and dedicated member of First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. She was a graduate of Dasher High School and was employed at the Comerica Bank in Detroit, Mich. where she retired.
On Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, God saw the road getting rough and he gently closed her eyes and whispered, “Come and take your rest. The battle has been fought and the victory has been won.” She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Theo Cheeseborough, two children: Harold and Michael; five brothers; five sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories a sister-in-law; Juanita Miller, two loving and devoted nieces: Lelia Lewis (Nate) of Clinton, Md. and Hazel Rose (Dennis) of Valdosta; five nieces, Elizabeth Jenkins of Jacksonville, Fla., Dorothy (Tom) Weldon of Lakeland, Ga., Doris Mathis, Helen (Richard) James, and Janice (Pallie) Terry, Wanda (Benjamin) Griffin; four nephews, Charles (Rudine) Miller, Johnny (Betty) Miller, Earnest Miller and Tyrone Miller all of Valdosta; two special great nieces, Velinda Lucas and Regina White both of Dothan, Ala. Also a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowful friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Albert L. Barfield is Pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
