Leslie Granville Eyre Wilson

Leslie Granville Eyre Wilson, age 96, of Tillsonburg, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Chateau Gardens Nursing Home, Parkhill, Ontario, on Monday, January 21, 2008. He was formerly of Sudbury. Mr. Wilson worked for Falconbridge Nickel Mines Sudbury division as a Millcrusher man for 30 years until his retirement in 1974.

Mr. Wilson was the beloved husband of the late Freda Wilson (nee: Saunders)(2001); the dear father of Margaret (Randall) Corbett of Jasper, Florida, Terry Wilson of Wallaceburg, Jeff Wilson of Sudbury, and Darlene (James) Russell of Tillsonburg; a loving grandfather to Randall Corbett Jr., Catherine (Mark) Isaac, Scott (Cindy) Corbett, Chris (Ashley) Wilson, Margaret (Jeremy) Rabideau, Sean (Lisa) Corbett, Karen Russell and Shawna Russell. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Wilson; a sister, Madeline King of England; and a dear friend and acquaintance, Carol Draper. Mr. Wilson was predeceased by his grandson, Jeff Corbett; a sister Mabel Wilson; and his brothers: Kenneth Wilson; Ron and Stan Corfield; and Willy, Dennis and Ted Fox.

Funeral services were held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2008, with Pastor Ron Ferris of Tillsonburg Salvation Army Church officiating. Interment was at Tillsonburg Cemetery.

At the family’s request memorial donations (payable by check) may be made to the Salvation Army Church, or to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Ostrander’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
