Madalyn Hall

HAHIRA — Madalyn Hall, 92, of Hahira, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Brooks County Hospital in Quitman after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira on Sept. 18, 1910, to the late William Joseph and Kate Martin Fiveash and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Hall was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joy Beth and Bill Weeks, Dorothy Meeks, Jan and Paul Sumner, all of Valdosta; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ralph and Blanche Hall, Terry and Dot Hall and Randy Hall, all of Hahira; 16-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Brunell Dykes of Lake Park; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Joe Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Clyde Stokes and the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Rosalie Rutherford

MADISON, Fla. — Rosalie Rutherford, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, in Madison, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2 at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel, Madison, Fla. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Madison. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Madison Memorial Hospital, 201 E. Marion St., Madison, Fla. 32340.

She was born in Madison County, Fla., and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Madison Garden Club in Madison. She was a member of New Hopeful Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Laverne Rutherford of Madison; four brothers, Ruben Brown, Columbia, S.C., Richard Brown, Lake City, Fla., James Brown, Palatka, Fla.; one sister, Margaret Sands, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandsons, Dan Rutherford and wife Gina, Will Rutherford and wife Kim; two great-grandsons, Dawson and Reese Rutherford, all of Madison. — Beggs Funeral Home



H. Raymond Wright Jr.

VALDOSTA — H. Raymond Wright Jr., 82, of Valdosta, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 9, 1920, in Miami, Fla., and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Wright was a retired aeronautical engineer with Curtis Wright Co. and was later associated with Grumman Aerospace designing hydrofoils. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II and a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Myra Swindell Wright of Valdosta; and his son, Ray Wright III who lives in The Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret F. Wright, his father, H. Raymond Wright Sr. and his stepmother, Katie Mae Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Daniel and the Rev. Stephen Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family received friends last night at the funeral home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Nancy Aileen Roach Manning, 56, Valdosta, formerly of Tifton, died Feb. 26, 2003, at her residence. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Oakridge Cemetery. — Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors-Tiftarea Chapel
