Nell Rogers Harrington

VALDOSTA — Nell Rogers Harrington, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at her home. She was born in Evans County, Claxton, Ga. but had lived in Valdosta most of her life. She was the daughter of the late James Giles and Maggie Rogers. In her early adult life, she was a elementary school teacher and later worked at the Lowndes County Department of Family and Children Services. Mrs. Harrington was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harrington is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Harrington, Sr. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Joseph B., Jr. and Lynn Harrington of Opelika, Ala., James Rogers and Kay Harrington of Birmingham, Ala., John Hodges and Darden Harrington of Waycross; her grandchildren, Joseph B. Harrington, III, Kenneth Harrington, Jim Harrington, Nancy Tomlinson, Jonathan Harrington and Joseph S. Harrington; and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Wayne Moseley and the Rev. Mike McAfee officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Addie Hughes

VALDOSTA — Addie Hughes, 92, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on Feb. 26, 1909, in Grady County, Ga. Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and a Baptist. She is survived by one son, Douglas Hughes of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, Wayne Hampton of Warner Robins, Ga. and Deborah Taylor of Valdosta; two great- grandsons, Dudley Taylor of Albany, Ga. and Derrick Taylor of Valdosta; one great- great- grandson, Coy Taylor of Valdosta; one sister, Audie Gardner of Yulee, Fla. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hughes and one daughter, Allie Pope. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, Ga. with the Rev. Victor Gilbert officiating. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Billy I. McFarland

VALDOSTA — Billy I. McFarland, 70, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 4, 1931, in Pennington Gap, Va. to the late William and Sarah McQueen McFarland and had lived in Valdosta since 1973. Mr. McFarland was a coal miner and a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Church. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce and Troy McConnell, Brenda and Kenneth Fletcher, Donna Jones; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Lynette McFarland, all of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Franklin Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Helen W. Raulerson

ST. GEORGE, Ga. — Mrs. Helen W. Raulerson, 85, of St. George, Ga. died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at the home of her son in Moniac, Ga. following an extended illness. She was a native of McComb, Miss., and had resided in Jacksonville, Fla. for many years before moving to St. George, Ga. in 1958. She was the daughter of the late John F. and Mary E. Gilly Morrison and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Sherman W. Raulerson and brothers, Bud and Hedrick Morrison. She was a homemaker and member of the Westside Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla. Survivors include her son, Richard S. (Penny) Raulerson of Moniac, Ga.; three daughters, Linda Thompson of Baldwin, Fla., Elaine (Toppy) Conner of Macclenny, Fla. and Kathy (Timmy) Kilgore of Callahan, Fla.; one sister, Minnie (C.R.) Watts of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of





St. George, Ga. with the Rev. James Conner, Pastor of the River Road Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Wayfare Cemetery, Echols County. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. this evening at Guerry Funeral Home, 420 East Macclenny, Ave., Macclenny, Fla. — Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, Fla.



Mrs. Freida Bradford, 38, of Brookfield, Ga. died on Dec. 11, 2001, Tift General Hospital, Tifton. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Hwy. 41 south. with the Rev. Eddie Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be held in Antioch Church Cemetery. — Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Hwy. 41 South is in charge of arrangements.





Clay H. Broadie, 39, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday night, Dec. 11, 2001, at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta after injuries he received in an automobile accident. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.





Mrs. Ruth Clements, 87, of Sparks died on Dec. 12, 2001, at South Georgia Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. They will be announced at a later date by Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home.
