VALDOSTA — Bath Craft Inc. was honored as the 2004 Manufacturer of the Year at the Salute to Manufacturers Early Bird Breakfast at the Valdosta Country Club Thursday.
“Our employees have done a really great job and without them, we wouldn’t be here,” Lenny Davis, operations manager, said. “Thanks to everyone who awarded us this, and we will make you proud.”
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce presented the breakfast that was sponsored by The Valdosta Daily Times, Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority, Georgia Power Company, Saft America Inc., Trus Joist, Atlanta Gas Light, Bath Craft, Inc., Brandon, Rackley and Dukes PC, Cowart Electric and Industrial Contractors Inc., Packaging Corporation of America and Team Temps Personnel Staffing Inc.
Chamber Chairman Jud Rackley said seven nominees were chosen based on nominations from peers. The seven chosen were American Drill Bushing, ERCO Worldwide Inc., Fresh Beginnings, Langdale Industries, Saft America Inc. and TM Poly-Film Inc. In September, a committee was formed to decide on the winner. The winning manufacturer was chosen based on commitment to itself and to the community.
Joy Schunhoff, chairman of the Existing Industry Committee, congratulated the winner.
“Bath Craft is a great example of the wonderful manufacturers in Lowndes County, and we are very proud of them,” she said.
Bath Craft was awarded a plaque from the Chamber and a host of tickets for events and other gifts.
