Virginia Futch
CECIL — Virginia Futch, 86, of Cecil, formerly of Cincinatti, Ohio, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in an area nursing facility.
She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 21, 1918, to the late Lacy E. Sr. and Jewel Wright Futch. She grew up in Valdosta and was a graduate of Valdosta High School. Miss Futch served in the U. S. Army during World War II and lived most of her adult life in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Survivors include two brothers, Herman J. Futch of Cecil and Robert M. (Bob) Futch of Lake Park, four nieces, Marcia Jordan, Judy Butler, Carol Blanton and Lisa McGilvray, and one nephew, Rusty Futch. She was preceded in death by three brothers, L. E. Futch Jr., James H. Futch and Julian R. Futch.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. David Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. –Carson McLane Funeral Home.
Willie Saturday Jr.
MOULTRIE — Willie Saturday Jr., 77, of Moultrie died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shelley Cook, Herman Wimberly, Van Dexter, D.G. Graves, Jimmy Hiers and Herman Busby.
Born Jan. 21, 1927, in Moultrie, Mr. Saturday was the son of the late Lucy Jones Saturday and William Saturday. He was a retired businessman and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Moultrie.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Michael Saturday; three brothers, Robert L. Saturday, William Monroe Saturday and William Mitchell Saturday; and a sister, Lorene Saturday Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Kent Saturday of Moultrie; two sons, Tommy Davis Saturday, Robert Randall Saturday and wife Carol, all of Moultrie; and three grandchildren, Christopher Kent Saturday, Benjamin Mark Saturday and Kimberly Joy Saturday.
The family may be contacted at the home of Randy and Carol Saturday, 1928 Magnolia Ave., or the home of David Saturday, 2504 Jacqueline Circle.

Dillard A. (Gus) Hudson
Dillard A. (Gus) Hudson, 69, of Valdosta died Saturday, Feb.7, 2004, at his home. He was born in Myrtle, Miss. on July 1, 1934, to Earl Hudson and the late Catherine Irene Green Hudson and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mr. Hudson was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict and was a retired welder with Hudson Welding.
Survivors include his wife, Idella Jane Hudson of Valdosta, one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Glen Everett of Valdosta, two sons, James Hudson of Cocoa, Fla. and Davey Hudson of Corcoran, Calif., his father, Earl Hudson of Statenville, two brothers and a sister- in-law, Fred Hudson of Valdosta, Kelly and Ann Hudson of Statenville, his sister, Billie Swinford of Potts Camp, Miss., seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Henry Cannington officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. –Carson McLane Funeral Home.
Homer S. Dixon
SPARKS — Homer S. Dixon, 87, of Sparks died on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at the Memorial Convalescent Center following a brief illness.
Born on July 22, 1916 in Cook Co., Mr. Dixon was a life-time resident of Sparks. He was of the Methodist faith, and was the owner of Dixon Grocery Store in Sparks for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mattie Pearl Holt Dixon of Sparks.
Survivors also include one son Bruce Dixon and his fiance Rita Tanner of Waycross; three daughters and one son-in-law, Clara and Charles Ganas of Lakeland, Mary Stewart of Adel and Darlene Sanders of Tampa, Fla.; two half-brothers, Ronald Dixon of Nashville and Marvin Dixon of Quitman; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by son-in-law, Scotty Stewart and one brother, Earl Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9 at the Chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Hoe South in Adel, with the Elder Thad Marshall and Rev. Elbert Cox officiating. Visitation will be today (Sunday) from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South. –Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Inc.

James Michael (Mike) Howell, 45, of Valdosta died Friday, February, 6, 2004 in Valdosta. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Martin/McLane Funeral Home of Hahira.
Rachel Folsom
Mrs. Rachel Folsom, 90, of Adel died on Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Tift Healthcare Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Woodlawn City Cemetary. –Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Inc.
