Linda Wood

Linda Wood, 49, of Live Oak, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in her home after a short illness. The Glendale, W.Va. native moved to Live Oak from Bradenton in 1982, worked as an associate at Wal-Mart in Live Oak and loved to play BINGO.



Survivors include her father, Kye Baker of Moundsville, W.Va., two daughters Kelly Jo Wooley and Christina Ann Wood, both of Live Oak; two grandchildren, Brittany Love Walker and Jacob Lee Walker; grandfather, Elmer Baker of Moundsville, W.Va.; two sisters, Betty Lou Huff of Moundsville, W.Va. and Judy Louise Glover of Tampa; and one brother, David Lee Baker of Ashebor, N.C. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Brenda Kay.



Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., today, Friday, Oct. 8, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, Live Oak.



Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak is in charge of all arrangements.



Mae Allison Scott



Mae Allison Scott, 89, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in the Good Samaritan Center at Dowling Park. The Suwannee County native was the wife of the late Rudolph Scott. Her joy was being a supportive wife, mother and homemaker. In addition, for many years she also worked as a part-time bookkeeper for Cheek Drug. Scott was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak, where she taught Sunday school classes for over 50 years.



Survivors include two sons, Stanley (wife, Donna) Scott of Lake City, S.C. and T. Allison (wife, Liz) Scott of Live Oak; one sister, Mittie Johnson of Pensacola; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., today, Friday, Oct. 8, at First Baptist Church, Live Oak with the Rev. Bill Carmichael officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 West Howard Street, Live Oak, FL 32064.



Pat Wilkinson



Pat Wilkinson, 70, of Live Oak, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in her home after a brief illness. The National City, Calif. native moved to Live Oak from St. Petersburg in 1987. She retired from Paragon Home Health in Live Oak as a certified nurse’s aide, was a lifelong care giver and attended New Harmony United Methodist Church, Live Oak.



Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Walter A. Wilkinson of Live Oak; two sons, Ken Wilkinson of St. Augustine and James Wilkinson of Live Oak; two brothers, Kenneth Haffly of Dowling Park and David Haffly of Big Bend, Oregon; and one grandchild, Holly Ann Wilkinson, Carson City, Nev.



Memorial services were conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, at New Harmony United Methodist Church, Live Oak.

Mildred Russell Mercer



Mildred Russell Mercer, 81, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in Suwannee Healthcare Center. She was a lifelong resident of Live Oak. Mercer was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Live Oak. She spent 35 years as a secretary for Suwannee Valley Elecric. Mercer was the daughter of the late William Russell and Dola Ross Mercer.



Survivors include her sister, Miriam M. Mercer of Live Oak; and six cousins, Louise Singletary of Live Oak, Patti (Ron) Skinner of Jasper and Melinda Hingson of Old Town, John “Bud” (Sherri) Deese of Lake City, Mike (Christine) Deese of Lake City and Lucille Alderman of Chiefland.



Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, in the chapel of Suwannee Funeral Home, 932 N. Ohio Ave., Live Oak, with Pastor Quincy Simmons officiating. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.



Lenora Barrs



Lenora Barrs, 78, a life-long resident of Branford, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in her home after a long illness.
