Focus On: Daylight Donuts

VALDOSTA — When the roosters are crowing and the sunlight is beginning to peak over the horizon … well that’s when folks can start stopping by and grabbing a fresh box of donuts.

Daylight Donuts is open at 5 a.m. every weekday morning to provide customers with convenience and a jumpstart to their morning.

Currently under the supervision of owners Ben Broomberg, Dake Eason, Keith Lindsey, and Trey Lindsey, Daylight Donuts has been open since Dec. 4 and business has yet to slow down. The owners said they have received a warm welcome from the Valdosta community.

Daylight Donuts offers a variety of baked items, such as apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, and sausage rolls.

Smoothies and espressos are also offered to add to the warm and inviting atmosphere. In the near future, bagels, cakes, and pies will be added to the list.

Daylight Donuts’ owners hope to be in a position to partner with local schools for some fund-raising activities.

The business owners said they’ve already received a number of telephone calls on this very issue and it’s just a matter of sitting down with the schools to see what they can offer.

So what was the inspiration to open the business?

“While vacationing, we visited a Daylight Donut store and were very impressed with the taste and quality of the items and that’s what inspired us to open our own store in Valdosta,” according to the business owners.

The name Daylight Donuts may be new to the Valdosta area, but within a matter of years, business owners hope to make the company a household name with locations in surrounding counties.

Catering is available by appointment, but purchasing and tasting is available as long as there’s a light on.

Q: What types of donuts do you sell?



A: We offer a variety of options for our customers. A few of those options are cake and yeast donuts, along with long johns, old fashioned donuts, twists, cream and jelly filled, powdered and, of course, specialty items.



Q: What are your store hours?



A: We are currently open Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
