Book review: “The Big Idea” by Donny Deutsch

This is a book based on the show of the same name, with the host turned author, which focuses on the American Dream stories of entrepreneurs who took their individual “big ideas” and, through hard work, turned them into realities and financial successes. Though helped with co-writer Catherine Whitney, Donny Deutsch reads in print much like he sounds on his cable TV show. That’s a plus if you like him, a minus if you find his TV persona irritating. Yet, this is an easy read, filled with inspirational stories, as well as ideas to help readers pursue their ideas. There is also that old adage that if you want to get rich, write a book about getting rich. So, it should be noted that this book arrived recently free and unsolicited in The Valdosta Daily Times’ mail. So maybe that’s another big idea: Read a free book about getting rich as often as possible.
