POLICE BEAT: Burglary suspect(s) sought by LOPD

The Live Oak Police Department is asking the public for help in ending a series of burglaries to a local business. In the past three weeks, an unknown person or persons has unlawfully entered the business during the nighttime hours on three separate occasions, according to an LOPD press release. Property reported stolen includes mechanic’s hand and power tools. LOPD Det. Sgt. Ron Shaw noted that the stolen tools belong to employees of the business, not the company itself. The cost of the stolen tools is in excess of $2000, said Shaw. property damage caused during the burglaries also exceeds $2000.

Accompanying this article are two photos taken from surveillance cameras at the business. “The photos are fuzzy, but this person is a well dressed burglar,” said Shaw.

The suspect is described as an African American male with “very low cut hair and tight sides,” said Shaw. “He dresses well for a burglar, wearing a leather jacket, khaki pants, and black dress shoes. Suspect appears to be light to medium complexioned. Height about 5’10” to 6’ feet tall, weight unknown.”
