Coach Chambers: “This win sealed the #1 seed in the district tournament with a 7-1 record and also allows the Lady Dogs to host the district tournament. I’m not sure when if ever the Lady Dogs have hosted a district tournament and that was a goal of ours. It is a testiment to the effort these young ladies have put into reaching our goals.”

Coach Chambers: “It was a tough senior night. Mayo is a good team. We did everything we could to stop Macklin and did a good job on her in the half court game. However when she got in the open court on the fast break we couldn’t slow her up which allowed them some easy points. This loss doesn’t take away from what these seniors have meant to out program. They have set a high bar for future classes to cross.”

Coach Chambers “We were flat tonight after our tough loss to Mayo. If it weren’t for our bench this is a game we could have easily lost. Kiaria Davis in particular played a great game. She did a good job on the boards and came up with a lot of hustle plays that don’t always show up on the stat sheet. Kristiana Evans also played a big part in this win. She did a good job on the boards. It wasn’t a pretty win but somehow we found a way to pull it out.”
Suwannee 64, Baker County 52

Coach Chambers: “We came out with great energy tonight. We got our fastbreak working which gave us some easy points. We moved the ball around well in the half court game which led to several assists for easy baskets. It was good to see the kids play well as a team. Hopefully we can build on this as we head into tournament play.”
Suwannee (16-6, 7-1) travels to Madison County tonight at 6 p.m. for their regular season finale.
