Former Live Oak Police Detective Ron Shaw dies

Former Live Oak Police Det. Sgt. Ron Shaw died Saturday night. Shaw retired from the LOPD at the end of May due to his health. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006 and has battled the disease since.

“Ron had been with us for over seven years,” said Live Oak Police Chief Buddy Williams. “He was a true warrior and true friend to us here and the citizens of Live Oak.”

Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming.
