Billy Montinus Hewitt, 29, of Moultrie, died on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Mother Easter Baptist Church where the Rev. Freddie Castle is the pastor. The Rev. Henry Mathis will officiate. Ambassador Cornelius Ponder III, Bishop Johnny Ward and the Rev. Julian Griner will be assisting. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery with the repast to conclude in the Greater Newton Grove Cathedral Fellowship Hall. Adam Shorter, Tylenski Breland, Cedric Martin, Derrick Hewitt, Nathaniel Pace Jr. and Patrick Melton will serve as pallbearers.

He was born on Dec. 6, 1981, in Moultrie, to Billy Hewitt and Dorothy Mathis Hewitt Jones. He graduated from Colquitt County High School in the Class of 2000. He later furthered his education at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and Valdosta State University. He was employed with National Beef as a meat cutter for eight years. He enjoyed listening to music and spending precious moments with his family and friends, his family remembered of him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mattie Hewitt; and two grandfathers, Tom Wilson and Henry Mathis Sr.

Survivors include his parents, Billy Hewitt and Dorothy H. Jones and husband John Jones Sr., all of Moultrie; one son, Ah’Mad Marques Dabney of Sale City; two brothers, Theodrick Martin Sr. of Moultrie and Byron Labronzes Hewitt and wife Maricel of Chicago, Ill.; one step-brother, John Jones Jr. of Moultrie; two nephews, Theodrick Martin Jr. of Valdosta, Ga., and Theodrick Martin III of Meigs; two nieces, Indea Martin of Valdosta, Ga., and Makaela Jordan Hewitt of San Diego, Calif.; one grandmother, Beatrice Mathis of Moultrie; three very special friends, Chiquita Dabney, Sheronda Hardy and

Kadawnis A. Harper; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers at National Beef.

The family will receive friends at 912 Elliott Brown Street.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Luke Strong And Son Mortuary, Ltd.
