Edward Hines trial underway

The trial of former Suwannee County resident Edward Antonio Hines Jr. began Tuesday morning in the Suwannee County Courthouse. Hines is on trial for attempted armed robbery and first degree murder for his involvement in the November, 2010 slaying of Manuel Raulerson. According to testimony, Raulerson was killed by a .22 caliber weapon and discovered some time later on the porch of his Suwannee County home by a relative.

The state presented 12 witnesses throughout Tuesday’s proceedings before the trial recessed until Wednesday morning.
