5 officers attacked at Suwannee CI

Five Suwannee Correctional Institution staff members were assaulted by at least two prisoners Monday, according to Florida Department of Corrections spokesperson, Misty Cash.

The investigation is ongoing and Cash could not release details. However, she did state that around late afternoon Monday, a couple of inmates used handmade weapons to attack five corrections officers. Cash said the extent of the injuries were not life threatening as all five are OK and have returned to work.
