SHS girls cross country with their trophy

The Suwannee High School girls cross country team placed second at the district meet and qualified for the regional competition Tuesday. The top four schools and the top 15 individuals advance to the regional race.

Team scores: Eastside 23, Suwannee 49, Newberry 86, Ft. White 98, Santa Fe 117, Palatka 156, Keystone inc., Bradford inc., Interlachen inc.

Coach Rodriguez is pleased with the progress the team has made this year.

Eastside was still dominant, but last year they won by 58 points. This year it was only 26 points. Suwannee is closing the gap with one of the better teams in the state. The regional race will be held Nov. 8 at Alachua.
