Worker killed in accident at GA cotton gin company

BOSTON, Ga. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials in south Georgia say a man was crushed by cotton seeds at a plant in south Georgia.
Thomas County sheriff’s investigator Pascal Autrey tells WALB-TV (http://bit.ly/1tFiMwwn ) 32-year-old Victor Chavez was unloading cotton seeds from a trailer at the Boston Gin Company on Friday when he fell into the back of the trailer and seeds began pouring on top of him.

Autrey says it took investigators between 15 and 20 minutes to find Chavez.
Autrey says authorities are reminding workers to be careful and review accident protocols.
