The Suwannee County Grand Jury may meet in January to examine the Big B shooting case in which Michael Carrigan of Tampa was charged with second degree homicide, according to Live Oak Police Chief Buddy Williams.

“Carrigan has not been arrested, just charged,” explained Williams. “We are anticipating a grand jury in the next month to see if the charges fit the crime.”
Carrigan was charged in the fatal shooting death of Willie James Jackson III, 30, of Live Oak at the Big B, a nightclub located off Walker Avenue in Live Oak, on Nov. 29. A second victim, Harry Edward Tillman, 34, was also shot and seriously injured but was left in stable condition. The LOPD, Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement teamed up for the investigation, and over 25 people were interviewed in connection to the shooting.
Information surrounding a grand jury’s investigation remains undisclosed until after they have concluded. However, Carrigan’s charge of second degree homicide rather than first degree indicates that there was no premeditated motive, according to Williams.
Carrigan has no previous criminal record, according to Williams.
