Suwannee Cross Country wins big at the Cedar Key Invitational

The Suwannee High girls and boys cross country teams won the Cedar Key invitational Oct. 8. The girls team successfully defended their title and the boys team made history by bringing home the first ever boys cross country trophy for Suwannee.

The following teams ran at the Cedar Key Invitational besides Suwannee: Cedar Key, Trenton, St. Johns Lutheran, Branford, Bradford, Bronson and Cheifland.

The Suwannee girls won by placing five runners in the top 10. The top five runners for the Suwannee girls were: Alexis Thompson 4th, Autumn Raulerson 5th, Courtney Sasso 6th, Kelsey Middleton 8th, and Abi Harrell 10th.

The Suwannee boys won by placing five runners in the top 11. The top five runners for the Suwannee boys were: Micah Hilliard 1st, Tim Choe 3rd, Ricardo Cruz 5th, Brenden Richard 9th, Chase Smith 11th.

The teams last race before the district race was Tuesday at Heritage Park.
