VALDOSTA — Rhonda Miller first started thinking about opening an Edible Arrangements on Mother’s Day 2014 when she bought her mom, Lucille, an arrangement.

“I started thinking we could use one here, that it would be a good business here,” said Miller.

So she reached out to Edible Arrangements.

“I looked into it and they were actually looking for somebody to come into Valdosta, so it was a perfect fit,” said Miller.

She found the right location at Baytree Village and set to work.

Construction started in June.

The walls that split the back into offices were torn down, creating one big, open space.

Then the back was fitted with equipment: shelving and sinks, coolers and dipping freezers, prep tables, fruit peelers.

Edible Arrangements opened Sept. 23.

Edible Arrangements’ main service is arrangements of fruit, similar to floral arrangements, such as the Confetti Fruit Cupcake, with cupcake-shaped pineapple slices dipped in chocolate and sprinkles, or the Graduation Celebration with chocolate dipped bananas, pineapples, grapes, strawberries and melon.

“Sometimes it’s hard to think of a gift and this is the perfect gift,” said Miller. “It’s not only pretty, it’s edible.”

Edible Arrangements offers smaller fruit and chocolate treats such as dipped apples slices, chocolate-covered strawberries and dark and white chocolate-covered banana slices.

Edible Arrangements also offers fruit smoothies, along with spinach and kale, as well as fruit salads, parfaits and banana splits.

In the coming months, Miller wants to add frozen yogurt.

Delivery is available in a 20- to 30-mile radius, with Miller delivering to Valdosta, Quitman, Hahira, Lake Park, Adel and Ray City among others.

Same-day delivery is also available.

“It’s great if we can have a few hours prep time in case we’re busy,” said Miller.
