Deputies arrested two Live Oak men in connection to a burglary where several weapons were stolen, according to reports.

Richard E. Touchton, 21, and Dylan Troy Pennington, 21, were booked into the Suwannee County Jail for a Jan. 6 burglary on 161st Road. Pennington was arrested last Thursday, while Touchton was arrested days later on Sunday.

According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, the two broke into the home and stole six rifles and shotguns from a cabinet. They also stole a .22 caliber rifle from a vehicle on the property.

The weapons are worth about $2,100, according to the report. The two later traded one of the guns for a bag of marijuana and “got high.”

The two parked their car about half a mile away from the home and walked the rest of the way, according to the SCSO. They broke the window to enter, before breaking the glass in the gun cabinet.

Pennington admitted to going with Touchton to steal the firearms, the report states. He said everything was supposed to be split 50/50, but he never got his half.

Touchton faces seven counts of grand theft of a firearm, one count of armed burglary and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Pennington faces one count of aiding in the burglary and one count for grand theft of a firearm.
