There were three major remodels in the store said Jennifer Calhoun, store manager.
The produce section was remodeled to look like a farmers market and features organic produce, she said. There is a whole new section of home goods and the electronics area was updated to have a more modern look and house the newest technology.
Although those departments have the most change, every part of the store was updated.
“Every counter was moved in the store,” Calhoun said. “Every counter was replaced or refurbished. And every tile was replaced.”
The store is also now the newest version of the Walmart brand, she said. The store features Walmart’s newest color schemes and signage.
While remodeling began back in April, the store stayed open every day, said Calhoun.

“I’d like to say thank you for all of the support from the community: To the all the residents of Valdosta, Lowndes County and surrounding counties,” Calhoun said.
Now that the remodel is done, Calhoun encourages customers to come and see the new store.
“Come shop with us,” she said. “We are open.”We have rolled back prices on thousands of items throughout the store so (customers) can save money and live better.”
Calhoun has been the store manager of the Walmart at 340 Norman Drive since September.
