The Business Drive: A South Georgia Business Outlook

Driving around the Lowndes County area residents see businesses open, move and close down from time to time. The following is a list of businesses that have recently opened, closed, moved, or are looking to open soon in the Lowndes County area.

VALDOSTA

• Lee’s Associates, 601 N. Ashley St., will be moving to 3127 N. Oak St., Jan 9, where the old Motion Dance Studio was located. It is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

• Diggidees, 2117 Bemiss Road, is currently closed but there is a “coming soon” sign placed outside of the old Hungry Howie’s location, 118 Northside Drive, Suite A. More information will be provided as it becomes available. 

• Anytime Garage Door repair, 4545 North Valdosta Road, opened Jan. 1 and is open 24/7. Contact: (229) 573-0757.

• Blinking Beauty, 3308 Country Club Road, Suite B, opened Jan. 2 and is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Friday. It is located inside Christy Howell Medical Aesthetics. Contact: (912) 470-8206 or (229) 242-0331.

• Peete Tax Service, 102 Jackson St., is set to open Jan. 15. Contact: (229) 269-4264.

Stokes Detailing, 1197 Melody Lane, Suite 5, opened Jan. 6. and is open 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. seven days a week. Contact: (229) 415-4432.

• Yannas Parties on Wheels is set to open Jan. 13 and does not have a physical address. Contact: (229) 375-9720.

• Tax Doctor MD Financial, 2904 N. Patterson St., Suite F, will be moving to 2601 Bemiss Road, Suite L, and reopen Jan. 9. It will be open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but will have extended hours in February. Contact: (229) 548-3232.

• Envy Island Tan, 3215 N. Oak St. Ext., Suite C, is set to open its second store Jan. 15 and will be open 10 a.m-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Contact: (229) 245-8267.

• Stoner’s Pizza Joint, 1406 N. Ashley St., is set to open Jan. 10. It will be open 4-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is moving into the old Caribbean Delight location. Contact: (229) 232-5179.

• Sonny’s BBQ, 1701 Norman Drive, will be celebrating the completion of its new look Jan. 10 and will have specials and give-aways. Some of the specials include beer specials, lunch plates, dinner plates and appetizers. The doors will open at 10:45 a.m.
