HCHS baseball takes two straight 

The Hamilton County baseball team has won two games in a row. The Trojans defeated Dixie County 11-10 on Thursday and topped Jefferson County 19-3 on Friday.

HCHS took an 11-6 lead into the seventh inning against the Bears and held on for a tight victory. Kaleb Allbritton pitched 3 1-3 scoreless innings and went 1 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Douglas Barker had three hits. Ben Godwin and Ricky Williams picked up two hits apiece. Javy Zamora hit a home run. 

On Friday, Hamilton run-ruled JCHS in three innings. Allbritton drove in three runs. Barker, Godwin, Williams and Javy Zamora all contributed with two RBIs.

HCHS travels to Union County on Thursday for a matchup against the 13-5 Tigers. The Trojans travel to Lafayette on Tuesday for their final district game of the regular season.

“We’re hitting the ball well and starting to gel a little bit,” said HCHS coach Chris Howard. “If Mayo beats Madison and we beat Mayo next week, it will be a three-way tie for first in the district.”  

Hamilton County softball celebrates Senior Night

Four Hamilton County softball players were honored on Thursday for Senior Night. Olivia Cohen, Taylor Cumbess, Amanda Hughes and Kassie Land were celebrated before the Trojans’ game with Fort White.

HCHS (10-7) has six games left before in the regular season. The district tournament starts April 25. 

Coalition to hold annual golf tournament 

The Hamilton County Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Coalition will hold its 10th annual golf tournament on Friday, April 21 at the Francis Lake Golf Club in Lake Park, Ga. 

Cost is $160 for a four-person team. There will be door prizes for players, and $5 mulligans available for purchase. Lunch will be served at noon with tournament play following at 1 p.m. For more information, please contact the Coalition’s office at:
