MOULTRIE, Ga. — The South Georgia Veterans Activities Committee is also collecting items for Christmas packages to give to veterans hospitalized at the Lake City VA Medical Center.

The hospital tells the committee what patients need, said Faye Rowe, secretary of the committee. Usually that’s things like razors, soap and deodorant.

And often gym clothes, like sweatpants, added Tom Davis, president of the committee.

“The patients get their medicines,” Rowe said, “but they don’t get the niceties.”

A drop-off box is stationed at the Museum of Colquitt County History, Fourth Avenue at Fifth Street Southeast in Moultrie.
