“A Children’s Christmas Celebration,” 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Dec. 9, Valdosta Church of the Nazarene, 4434 N. Forrest St. Presented by Valdosta Quota Club. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Activities include crafts, goody bags, visit with Santa, refreshments, photo op and story time featuring “The Christmas Story” with live Nativity scene and “The Night Before Christmas.” Tickets: $12 per child and are available at First State Bank and Trust Company, Inner Perimeter Road; Brooker Insurance, 1808 Jerry Jones Drive; The Image Salon, 1900 Gornto Road; or any Quotarian. Annual Women’s Breakfast, 8:30 a.m. Dec. 9, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Theme: “Maturing In The Faith”. Speakers: Evangelist Florine Edwards from Mt. Olive, and Sis. Tia Battles from Thomas Chapel. The attire is casual dress in red and black.

The Westside Adult & Children’s Choirs present “The Greatest Story Ever Told,” 6 p.m. Dec. 10, Westside Baptist Church, 1600 Lankford Drive.

Sunday Servic, 10:45 a.m. Dec. 10, Unitarian Universalist Church, 1951 E. Park Ave.,  “The Absolutely No Rehearsal Christmas Pageant”. Back by popular demand, this Sunday we will have our second annual Christmas Pageant. The presentation will be multigenerational, with the children reenacting the Christmas story as narrated by our youth and adults. All the traditional story and trappings will be there, but with a distinct Unitarian spin as well as an invitation to a fresh interpretation. The spontaneity of children holds before us delight, entertainment, and insight into the better part of our nature.

Christmas Music, “The Glory of Christmas”, 6 p.m. Dec. 10, Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 100 E. Park Ave. Presented by Chancel Choir with full orchestra, jubilate handbells and K- Kids Children’s Choirs. Christmas music including familiar carols, favorites and new works. 

Pastor and Wife’s 5th Anniversary, 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 10, St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Speakers: Pastor Charles Dave, St. Mark MBC at 11:30 p.m.; and Pastor Tim Riser, Restoration Fellowship of Valdosta at 3 p.m. 

Christmas Party co-sponsored by The People’s Tribunal and Serenity Church of Valdosta, 7 p.m. Dec. 15, the Academy of Excellence, 1618 North Lee St. No gifts are required or expected. Family-fun atmosphere. A gift worth no more than $5 is expected of those who choose to participate in the game.
