VALDOSTA — Arson is the suspected cause of a fire that burned down the site of several former nightclubs off Highway 84 Friday, according to the sheriff.
Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk said the building burned down sometime after midnight.
It would be the second arson the building has endured through the years, Paulk said.
There were no injuries, said Paige Dukes, Lowndes County court clerk and public information officer.
Lowndes County Fire Rescue and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office responded, Duke said. Remerton Fire Department also responded with a ladder truck.
Deja Vu was a club at 2467 U.S. Highway 84. The site was home to several nightclubs during the past three decades, including Vegas, Rumors, Neon Cowboy and Stan’s.
Firefighting crews were still on the scene late Friday morning.
