GREENSBORO, Ga. – The devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene has impacted families and communities across Georgia, leaving many in urgent need of support.

In response, the BankSouth Foundation launched a matching donation program for BankSouth and BankSouth Mortgage employees, providing critical resources to help those affected by the storm, according to a press release from the company. Together, the foundation and employees raised $36,100 to aid in recovery and rebuilding efforts in the Augusta and Valdosta regions.

The combined funds have been directed to the United Way of the CSRA in Augusta and the Greater Valdosta United Way. Both organizations are on the ground, delivering essential supplies, shelter, and long-term support to hurricane victims, well after the immediate crisis fades from the news cycle, the press release said.
