VALDOSTA — Photographer Bryce France is launching “1,000 Portraits,” a traveling portrait project that aims to capture the beauty and diversity of communities across the country, starting in his hometown of Valdosta.

From March 20-22, France will be setting up a pop-up portrait station at Curate in downtown Valdosta, welcoming walk-ins to be part of the project. The goal is  1,000 portraits, each one highlighting the unique character of the people who shape a town.

France, who first discovered his passion for photography while attending Valdosta State University, is excited to return home to kick off the project.

“This project is based on my foundational love of portraiture and how every face tells a story.”

The project invites anyone and everyone—locals, visitors, creatives, business owners, and beyond—to step in front of the camera for a moment of recognition and reflection. No appointments, no expectations—just a space to be seen.

Those interested in being part of the Valdosta installment can simply stop by Curate during the event dates.
