Eddie Lee Jowers

Eddie Lee Jowers, age 66, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Saturday morning, April 30, 2011 at his home in Live Oak, Fla. Eddie was born on February 10, 1945 to the late Charles and Iris Jowers and was also predeceased by his sister, Delores Wainwright. He was a kind and gentle person, was very religious and from his heart would witness without hesitation.

Survivors include his brother, Ruben (Lynda) Jowers of Ft. White, Fla.

Funeral services will be held, 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the graveside in the Macedonia cemetery with Rev. Tim Carver officiating.

Linda Cannon

July 27, 1943 –

April 30, 2011

Linda Cannon 67, died peacefully on April 30, 2011 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida. Born on July 27, 1943 to the late Howard and Nina Morgan Roberts. Linda graduated from Lake Butler High School in 1961. Linda married Joe Pete Cannon where they have resided in Branford for 48 years. Mrs Cannon was employed at Commercial Bank in Live Oak for 10 years and retired from Branford High School with 30 years as an Administrative Secretary, where she was loved by her co-workers and students as well. Mrs. Cannon was a member of First Baptist Church Branford.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nenny and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Roberts.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years Joe Pete Cannon; a daughter, Donna Suggs (Robbie) of Hatch Bend, Florida; two sons Darryl and Dean Cannon (Kim) of Branford, Florida;  two sisters, Joy Miles, Lake Butler, Florida, and Ramona Dobbs of Raiford, Florida; one brother Terry Roberts, West Palm Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Barbara Roberts of Lake Butler, Fl; five grandchildren, Brittany Hewett, (Brandon), Brett Suggs, Delani, Dara  and Dawson Cannon; two great grandchildren Kagan and Kamdyn Hewett.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cannon were held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Branford, Florida with Rev. Eddie Blalock and Rev, Gordon Keller officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery Branford, Florida. The family received friends on Monday evening May 2, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home in Branford, Florida. Daniels Funeral Homes and Crematory of Live Oak and Branford is in charge of all arrangements.

Tamos David Sapp

Tamos David Sapp, a native of Live Oak, Fla. passed away at Hospice of Lake City of a lengthy illness. He was a farmer and of Baptist faith. He was predeceased by his parents: Tamos Earl Sapp and Virginia Baisden Sapp of Live Oak, Fla. He is survived by his Brother, Christopher E. Sapp; Sister, Tina L. Sapp (Randall) Crosby, Daughter, Ashley (Paul) Bowles and longtime Dearest Friend Angie (Jay) Carrier, all of Live Oak.  There will be a casual memorial at Falmouth Springs at 3 p.m., May 7, 2011. ICS Cremation & Funeral Home, 357 NW Wilks Lane, Lake City, Fla. 32055 – 386-752-3436.

Arthur David Zimmerman

Arthur David Zimmerman, 64 of Chipley, Florida passed away April 27, 2011 at Jackson County Hospital in Marianna, Florida after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Zimmerman and Alberta White Zimmerman, Sisters: Betty June Moore and Brenda Martin and Brother, Kenneth Zimmerman. Survivors include one daughter, Amber Morgan; three sons, David Zimmerman Jr., Shane Zimmerman and Sean Zimmerman; one brother, Edward Zimmerman; six grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Mr. Zimmerman was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was of Baptist faith. His biggest enjoyment was riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.

Services were conducted Tuesday, May 3, 2011 with visitation from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Walker Creek Bethel Baptist Church in Hatchbend, Fla. and graveside services at The Old Hatchbend Cemetery. Final arrangements by ICS Cremation & Funeral Home, 357 NW Wilks Lane, Lake City, FL – 386-752-3436.

Bessie Elizabeth Jackson

Mrs. Bessie Elizabeth Jackson, age 73, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  She was born in Day Town, Florida, and was the daughter of the late John Henry, and Irene Windham Ezell.  Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette and Suwannee County.  She was a member of the Luraville Baptist Church.

Survived by a son; Bubba McCray and wife Mary Ann of Mayo, FL, a daughter; Sherrie Clark and husband Dale of Luraville, FL, a brother; Wendell Ezell of Perry, FL, (2) sisters; Zelda Dietrick and Linda Parker, both of Mayo, FL, (4) grandchildren; Amy Thomas and husband Mark, Neil McCray and wife Julie, David McCray and wife Nikki, and Ashley McCray, (5) great-grandchildren; Travis Brett, Forrest Lanier, Jake Thomas, Katelynn Marie, and Tanner Davin, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 4 p.m. with Bro. Bruce Branch and Bro. Ronnie Rush, officiating.  Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Family received friends from 3 pm – 4 pm. (1 Hour Prior To Service).

Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo is in charge of all the arrangements.
