GREENVILLE, Fla.

Evelyn Hall Lewis

Evelyn Hall Lewis, 78, of Greenville, Fla., died after a lengthy illness, at Pine Lake Nursing Home in Greenville on Monday, Nov. 7, 2005. Born in Hahira, on Oct. 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Verner and Julia Thompson Hall. Mrs. Lewis was a licensed practical nurse and a member of Greenville Church of Christ.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Aubrey L. and Donna Lewis of Greenville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jeannie McDaniel of Lake Park, Michelle Lewis of Greenville, Fla., James. R. Giles of Clyo, Illine Norton of Utah; nine great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Romain Spell of Lake Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey A. Lewis and a daughter Rhonda L. Giles.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bill Curry officiating. PINETTA, Fla.

Fleeta Cole

Fleeta Cole, 80, of Pinetta, Fla. died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 in Madison, Fla.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

She was born in Berrien County, Ga. land lived in Pinetta. She moved to Spottswood, N.J. and lived in Hopewell, Pa. and Barnegat, N.J. before returning to Pinetta in 2002. She was a nurse at Community Hospital in Toms River, N.J. for 15 years. She was a member of the Florida Sheriffs Association and a Brownie Scout leader, and a member of Pinetta Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, antiques, traveling and her pets.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Cole of Pinetta; two sons, William Cole of Merrimack N.H., Robert Cole of Pinetta; one daughter, Janet Horton of Hopewell, Pa.; three brothers, Norman Walker, Robert Walker, and Charles Walker, all of Pinetta; two sisters, Elizabeth Haraz of Pinetta, and Edith Tyre of Jasper, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. — Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel, Madison, Fla.



VALDOSTA

Victoria LeeAnne Newsome

Victoria LeeAnne Newsome, 8, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Valdosta on April 29, 1997, to Lee and Margaret Anne Newsome. Victoria was many things to many different people. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Victoria was a ray of sunshine. Throughout her difficult illness she kept a wonderful attitude and was very strong. Victoria always thought of others, she never complained and she loved her family deeply.

Victoria was proud of her many accomplishments. She was proud of loosing two teeth at the same time, she was proud to have been a flower girl, she was proud when she learned to swim, ride a bike and skip a bar on the monkey bars at school. She was proud to be line leader in kindergarten, Mrs. Pumpkin in the class play, and of her successful modeling career. She was proud to learn to dance and to be a cheerleader for her brother, Travis. And later, she was proud when she learned to crawl, stand, walk, swim, write, eat, drink and dress herself all over again. She loved the color purple, flowers, broccoli and cheese, Mary-Kate and Ashley movies, Sponge Bob, The Fairly Odd Parents, Dora, Hello Kitty, Rhett Akins and Mercy Me. She liked to dig in the sand and look for seashells at the beach and she liked to go to the races with her daddy and’ (her kids). She said many times that Jesus was taking care of her. She will be terribly missed and will live in the hearts of her family forever.

She is survived by her parents, Lee and Margaret Anne Newsome, of Valdosta; her sister, Krista Newsome, of Valdosta; her two brothers, Travis Newsome and Ronnie Newsome, both of Valdosta; maternal grandparents, Bill and Lucille Sineath, of Valdosta, and Peggy Anderson of Valdosta; paternal grandfather, Frank Newsome of Moultrie; great-grandmothers, Mrs. John Q. Sineath, and Mrs. Robert P. Anderson, both of Valdosta; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Warren, of Valdosta. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Martiele and David Franklin, of Ponte Vedra, Fla., Chris and Amy Newsome of Valdosta, Andy and Rebecca Newsome of Moultrie, Austin McLeod of Valdosta, Liz Lloyd of Valdosta, and Sadie Fraleigh of Dallas, Texas; great-aunts and great-uncles, Debra and Ronnie Lieupo, Jackie and Roger Austin, Robin Stuckey, Pam and Steve Barrow, Martiele and Michael Schroder, Monique and Jim Sineath, Anne and Jack Sineath, Marjorie and Ronnie Anderson, and Bob Anderson; a great-great aunt, Dr. Martiele Turner; and twenty six cousins. Victoria is preceded in death by a grandmother, Victoria Banks, two great-grandfathers, Mr. John Q. Sineath and Mr. Robert P. Anderson and her great-great grandparents, Catherine and Carl Banks and a great-great uncle, Dr. Philip Chastain.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Sayre will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service. Ron Darby 56, of Hahira died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
