SHS cross country wins first home meet

Suwannee is off at Heritage Park and Gardens.

Suwannee High School Cross Country boys and girls won their first home meet Tuesday at their new course at Heritage Park and Gardens on Helvenston Street in Live Oak. 

The girls scores were: Suwannee 17, Branford 63, Cedar Key 68.

The boys scores were: Suwannee 21, Cedar Key 38, Godby – incomplete. In cross country, like in golf, the low score wins.

The top five runners for the Suwannee girls were Alexis Thompson, Natalie

Lord, Courtney Sasso, Kelsey Middleton and Emelia Rodriguez.

The top five runners for the Suwannee boys were Micah Hilliard, Tim Choe, Ricardo Cruz, Miguel Canjay, and Chase Smith.

The team’s next race is Saturday Sept. 26 at the Alligator Lake Invitational in Lake City.
