Sindy Faulkner
NASHVILLE — Sindy Faulkner, 72, of Nashville died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Berrien County to George and Stancy Ray Harnage. She was a homemaker and the widow of Lester Lindsey and William Curtis Faulkner.
She is survived by four daughters Lavera Horton, Nashville, Sindy Sirmans, Ray City, Susan Hayes, Lakeland, Linda Greer, Tifton; two sons, Lester Lindsey Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., David Hadden, Tifton; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Thomas, Augusta, Patsy Griffin, Nashville; and one brother, Henry Harnage of Enigma.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Beggs officiating. Burial will be held in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home
Thelma Lee Jones
BROOKS COUNTY — Thelma Lee Jones, 93, of Brooks County died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 26, 1910, in Brooks County to the late Zadock Berry Olliff and Ida Watson Olliff and was a lifelong resident of Brooks County.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Autrie O. Jones, approximately 19 years ago.
She was a lifelong member of Pauline Baptist Church in Brooks County and her father was one of the first members of Pauline Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener with the daylily being one of her favorite flowers and enjoyed making crafts with many close friends in the Morven Craft Club.
Survivors include her nephews, Quentin and Joan Lawson of Valdosta, W.T. and Augusta Olliff of Moultrie, Douglas and Linda Parrish of Americus and G.M. Jones of Atlanta; nieces, LaRue Swymer of Pavo, JoAnn and Paul Little of Orlando, Fla., Martha Sue and Andrew Edwards of Savannah, Wilma and Glenwood Baker of Moultrie; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., today, Feb. 5, 2004, in the Pauline Cemetery with the Rev. Benny Olliff and Dr. Bill Dempsey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Pauline Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Mary Alice Lee
HOMERVILLE — Mary Alice Lee, 92, of Homerville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, in Clinch Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 26, 1912, in Montgomery County, Ala., to the late Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Mosely. She lived in Clinch County most of her life. Mrs. Lee graduated from Valdosta High School, received her AB degree from Valdosta State College, her master’s degree and six-year degree from the UGA. She taught at Lowndes, Clinch and Lanier County Schools; was principal of Dupont School from 1940-1952; was curriculum director in Clinch County from 1952-1957. She served as superintendent of Clinch County Schools from 1961, until retirement in 1975; served as secretary and treasurer of the Georgia Association of School Superintendents 13 years; a member of the Education Advisory Committee, VSC, the G.E.A. Policies Committee; Clinch County Board of Health, Regional Library Board, Slash Pine Community Action Committee; TPA for Clinch County, President of Clinch County Retired Teachers, National Education Association, Georgia Education Association, Georgia Retired Teachers Association, member of Homerville Woman’s Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Beta Alpha Chapter, and Charter member of Beta Alpha Chapter, Eight District Woman’s Club, Member of Order of the Eastern Star Magnolia Chapter, Worthy Matron 1978-1979, Director of Clinch County Chamber of Commerce, member of DAR, John Floyd Chapter, charter member of Friends of the Library and associate member of Hospital Pink Ladies; member of Dupont Baptist Church, served as Sunday School Superintendent, taught Adult Sunday School Class, and was a member of the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karlyn Lee Singletary; three brothers, Charles Mosely, Joe Mosely, Albert Mosely; two sisters, Doris Mosely Winter and Margaret Mosely Crawford.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Lee Corbitt of Homerville; six grandchildren, Michele Godfrey, Jeff and Susie Brown, Mary Ruth and Kyle Handley, Chad and Denise Brown, all of Homerville, Gregory Calley, Atlanta, Kristy Corbitt and Wiley Stalvey Jr., Homerville; nine great-grandchildren, Ryder Godfrey, Chance Cooper, Trinity Cooper, Zack Handley, Breanna Handley, Annelise Brown, Meredith Brown, Parker Brown, Logan Brown; and one brother Archie Mosely of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in First Baptist Church, Homerville. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be held today in the Social Hall of First Baptist Church in Homerville with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m.

Ruth Gwendolyn Stoffregen
VALDOSTA– Ruth Gwendolyn Stoffregen, 77, of Valdosta, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Blythe, Ga., on Aug. 30, 1926, to the late Percy Bryan and Ruth Gertrude Daniel Adkins. Mrs. Stoffregen was a retired accountant with civil service, a charter member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).
She is survived by one son, Major Elliott Stoffregen III, USAF (Reserve) of Millbrook, Ala.; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ray Kemp; one grandson and his wife, Will and Carol Kemp; one brother, Wayne Brian Adkins, all of Valdosta; one sister, Frances Carolyn Finklea of Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Stoffregen was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Stoffregen Jr.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Craig Rikard will officiate. Burial will follow. Levis A. Weeks, 79, of Adel passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Massee Baptist Church with the Rev.
