Japanese punk band Peelander Z will play Ashley Street Station.

Zach Lambert will play 6 p.m. at the Salty Snapper. 

Wednesday is the deadline to submit designs for the City of Valdosta’s Dumpster Art public art project.

THURSDAY

Echols County Board of Commissioners meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Board of Commissioner’s Building in Statenville. A work session will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Lowndes County Board of Assessors meeting, 9 a.m. Sept. 1, Lowndes County Governmental Building, 302 N. Patterson, first floor. 

Hahira City Council will meet 7:30 p.m. at the Hahira Court house.

Blues Night with the Little Henry Band plays the first Thursday of every month at the Salty Snapper.

The Nashville Christian Institute holds Alumni Reunion, 7 p.m. Sept. 3, Rainwater Conference Center, 1 Meeting Place, Valdosta.  Featuring:  Atty. Fred Gray, Asanta K. Assante, and Senior Servant, Floyd Rose. Topic:  “Race Relations in this  Election year.”

Farm Days will take place 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Historic Lowndes County Courthouse.

The Echols County Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Board of Education Building in Statenville.

Valdosta City Council work session will be held 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The Valdosta Board of Education will meet 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Superintendent’s Office.

 City of Hahira Board of Directors for the Downtown Development Authority meeting, 2 p.m. Sept. 19, Hahira Community Center, 215 Randal St., Hahira. The purpose of the meeting  will be to hear presentations on the Odom Building, City Center, and other items. 

The City of Dasher regular September council meeting has been changed to 6 p.m. Sept. 19, at  Dasher City Hall due to Labor Day Holiday. All citizens are invited to attend.

Community Resource Fair for Disabled Persons, Council is seeking companies/organizations providing services, products, support or employment to disabled persons/families to display their resources.
