term limits

When we published a report that the Lowndes County Board of Education had voted down consideration of a public referendum to create term limits for board members, readers on Facebook posted:

Steven Truitt: I bet they did!

Robbie Vaughnn: They don’t want to fire themselves..

Wes Swarens: Imagine that, board members voting to keep their jobs for as long as they want them

Joshua Okon: Why is this not a vote for the Lowndes county citizens?

Liz Watson: I wonder if they vote to give themselves a raise also?

Clay Griffis: Next! Schools Board votes to give School Board a raise!

Don J. Brewer: They voted to keep them selves in!!! Joke. It should be the voters decision.

Anne Ed Carter: Board members don’t want to give up that money. forget about anything else it’s all about money, some could care less about schools. They put on a big show, but money is the key.
