Barone, Mike
Mike Barone, 61, of Branford passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 in his residence after a short illness. The Brooklyn, New York native moved to Branford a year ago from Sorrento, and he was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include is companion: Debbie Ibarra, Branford; one daughter, Kelly Barone, West Milford, NJ; one step-daughter, Rachel Ibarra, Branford; two sons, Jonnathan Barone and Michael J. Barone, Jr. both of West Milford, NJ; one brother, Vincent Barone, Mt. Dora and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted through Richards Funeral Home in West Milford, NJ with interment following in the Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford, NJ.
Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak was in charge of all local arrangements.
Byrd, Sylvia
S ylvia Byrd, 47, of Branford passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 in her home after a long illness. The Tampa native lived in Branford all her life and was a member of the Midway Baptist Church in Branford.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Byrd, Branford; mother, Elsie Warren; three sons, Travis, Troy and Trey Byrd all of Branford; one sister, Michelle Lambert, Branford; three brothers, David Warren, Randy Warren both of Branford and Wayne Warren, Pensacola; two grandchildren: Tara and Tana Byrd both of Branford.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Midway Baptist Church, Branford with Rev. Charles Walker and Rev. Danny Rogers officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.

Sexton, Edith Collins
E dith Collins Sexton, 60, passed away Feb. 4, 2006 in Shands at Alachua General Hospital, Gainesville following a short illness.
Mrs. Sexton was born August 20, 1945 in Richmond, VA and moved to the Mayo area in 1998 from O’Brien. She was a area newspaper carrier for the Gainesville Sun and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, John Sexton of Mayo; three daughters, Wanda Young and Casey of Branford, Dee Land and Aubrey of Mayo, Debbie Sexton and Mike of Orlando; two sons, Tim and Ed Sexton both of Orlando. and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. in Cornerstone Baptist Church, Mayo with Rev. Kyle Giddens and Rev. Aldo Mesa officiating. Interment followed in Airline Baptist Church Cemetery.
Daniels Funeral Home of Branford was in charge of all arrangements.
