BOOK REVIEW: Of Love and Life by R. Lee Hendon
Published 10:30 am Saturday, February 2, 2019
Poet R. Lee Hendon writes lines exploring the struggles of life, the challenges of love.
He’s collected these poems in a 50-page book titled “Of Life and Love.”
Dorrance Publishing notes Hendon’s poems “are self-revealing and self-indulging.
Perhaps we can identify with his somewhat fragmented and broken life experiences. Perhaps we can gain a greater understanding of our common life experiences, leading to some aha’s, to give joy, love and direction to life’s challenging adventure. Come what may, the journey is not over until it is over.”
Hendon lives in Waycross.
Hendon was the first in his family to graduate from college, according to the publishing company. He attended Milligan College and Vanderbilt Divinity School.
“Ministry was his chosen profession for 45 years, retiring in January 2015,” according to Dorrance. “He is an avid motorist, having ridden to and through every state in the U.S. and every province in Canada, tent camping as he goes. He has two wonderful children and four marvelous grandchildren. His retirement avocation has become triathlons.”
