Mama Stone, A Place Beyond Giants and Jeff Hill: 8 p.m., Ashley Street Station, 607 Baytree Road. A Place Beyond Giants is a Latin prog jazz metal rock fusion band on tour. Check out local acts Mama Stone and poet Jeff Hill in the same night.

Valdosta Police Lunch and Learn Active Shooter Response: noon-1 p.m., City Hall Annex Multipurpose Room, 300 N. Lee St. As part of National Police Week, join the City of Valdosta for a free Lunch and Learn at the City Hall Annex. Hear from VPD officers about active shooter response. Limited spots are available. Contact the PIO office at 229-259-3548 to reserve your spot.

2019 Taste of Valdosta: 6-9 p.m., Rainwater Conference Center, 1 Meeting Place. There will be sample tastings of food from local restaurants such as Angel Cakes, Aramark, Cinnaholic, DuMEALZ, HoneyBaked Ham, Jack’s Chophouse, Louie Smalls, Olive Garden, Outback Steak House, Rodeo’s Mexican Restaurant, Sam’s BBQ, Small Cakes and Stoner’s Pizza Joint with tea provided by Chick-fil-A on St. Augustine Road. There will be a wine tasting provided by Horse Creek Winery. Proceeds benefit Southside Recreation Center, South Georgia House of Hope and Other Local Charities. There will be a silent auction featuring items from local vendors. Tickets cost $25 per person. Winnie the Pooh: 7:30-9 p.m., the Dosta Playhouse, 122 N. Ashley St. Enjoy this show about Christopher Robin’s little bear friend and all of his iconic friends from the A.A. Milne adaptation. Other times and dates include 2:30-4 p.m. and 7:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

Downtown Valdosta Art Walk: 5-8 p.m., Downtown Valdosta. Enjoy a night out in the City Center Arts District. There will be live music, artists and culinary demos, pop-up shops and DIY exhibits.

Kenji Bolden Trio: 7-10 p.m., the Salty Snapper, 1405 Gornto Road. Come enjoy food, drinks and live music by the Kenji Bolden Trio at the Salty Snapper.

18:SATURDAY

SuperPuff Saturday Asthma Day Camp: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., May 18, Northside Baptist Church, 200 E. Park Ave. South Health District’s Children’s Medical Services offers the camp as a fun and free way to educate asthmatic children ages 5-12 and their families about asthma. Admission is free and there will be games, prices, face painting, breakfast and lunch. There will also be morning educational segments to describe ways to cope with the illness and the special needs associated with asthma. The deadline to register is May 3. 19:SUNDAY

Customer Appreciation Weekend: noon-5 p.m., Day Bros RV Sales of Georgia, 5355 Mill Store Road. May 16-19 is Customer Appreciation Weekend. Auditions for Big River: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Theatre Guild Valdosta, 122 N. Valdosta Road. Big River is adapted from the Mark Twain novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and is set to the music and lyrics of Roger Miller. The setting of the play is along the Mississippi River Valley in the late 1840s. The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please be prepared to sing either a country or gospel song. Additionally, there will be movement, so wear shoes that you can dance in. Showtimes and dates are August 1-3 at 7:30 p.m., August 4 at 3 p.m. and August 11 (time is TBD). Call (229) 251-3575 if you have any questions. 20:MONDAY

Trivia Rama: 9-11 p.m., Bleu Pub, 116 W. Hill Ave. Every Monday, come to the pub for random pop culture trivia. There are always drink and food specials, such as $1 PBR.

Monday Night Trivia: 7-9 p.m., the Salty Snapper, 1405 Gornto Road. It’s Monday Night Trivia with bartender and host Kennedy Broomberg. We’ll be giving away prizes for the top team and offering $1 oysters for everyone. Wing special with a free pitcher of Natural Light with every order of 16 wings. Please note: No more than six players to a team, teams must register by 6:45 p.m. Cell phone use is prohibited.

Zumba with Jessica: 10:30-11:30 a.m., Sculpt 24 Fitness, 3259 Inner Perimeter Road. Join Jessica for a fun and sweat filled Zumba class every Monday and Wednesday. Zumba is Latin-inspired and has different forms of dancing from Bachata, Merengue, Salsa and many other world rhythms.

Reformed University Fellowship: 7:30-10 p.m., Valdosta State University, 1500 N. Patterson St. RUF is the official campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. Our fellowship on campus is not limited to those who have a prior commitment to being Reformed, Presbyterian or even Christian.

22: WEDNESDAY

Commission’s Area Agency on Aging meeting: 10:30 a.m., Nashville Community Center, 102 North Jefferson St., Nashville, Ga. The meeting is open to the public. 

Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Georgia Beer Co., 109 S. Briggs St. Geeks Who Drink brings the nation’s best live-hosted pub quiz to Georgia Beer Co. every Wednesday. Join us for eight rounds of audio, visual and live-hosted trivia. Our weekly quiz is free to play, and we’ll be giving away prizes for answering bonus questions and gift cards for our top teams at the end of the night. Geeks Who Drink rules limit the total number of players on your team to six, so gather your smartest friends and come down.

Charcuterie and Wine Wednesday: 5-9 p.m., Friends Grille and Bar, 3338 Country Club Road. Every Wednesday at Friends Grille and Bar is Charcuterie Night. This meat and cheese board is ever-changing, and our experienced bar staff also hand selects four wines every Wednesday for a wine flight to pair with the board. A single tasting or a table tasting is available.
