A Gainesville man was arrested last week on drug charges after he was caught prowling in Terra Trace subdivision in Live Oak. Live Oak Police Department officers Robert Fipps and Thomas Faller made the bust.

According to LOPD Det. Sgt. Ron Shaw, Peter Aldo, 33, of Gainesville followed a girl he had previously met to Terra Trace, where she lived. Aldo was caught prowling around the neighborhood telling residents he was looking for his cat. Residents got suspicious and called police.

After LOPD conducted a search of the man’s vehicle, they discovered marijuana, ecstasy and other unknown substances and pills. Officers also found $641 in cash in Aldo’s possession.

Aldo was arrested for loitering and prowling and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, said Shaw. He was taken to the Suwannee County jail. He later posted bond and was released.

Shaw said as soon as Aldo got out of jail, he went right back to Terra Trace where he was again arrested for loitering and prowling.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is analyzing the items to determine composition and quantity.

`”It was a pretty good pop,” said LOPD Chief Buddy Williams.
