Rant & Rave for Thursday, January 3, 2008

A rant to the VDT for not printing a rave or rant when it is posted. I sent in a rant about the small print in the phone books that you can’t hardly read and have not seen it in the paper yet. They must be afraid of the phone company.
Why rant after you paid the extra $2 for the gift card? Just give cash.
To the nurse who stated she quit the local ER due to having to lie for the doctor on duty (saying he was working an emergency) who was allegedly not really working: Kudos to you. Perhaps if more members of the staff did the same thing, something good would come of it. This facility’s ER has suffered a bad reputation long enough. Too many really good things are going on at this facility to allow this to continue.
I also was employed by a physician that requested me to lie to patients. I quit and in secretarial work was also told to lie to customers. Is anyone honest out there anymore?
I would like to rave for Chris and Katrina at 1st State Bank. They took a very difficult situation on New Year’s Eve and made it look very easy.
To the person who thinks Valdosta High School Wildcats should move down to AAAA, I am sorry but that is not true. When Lowndes was losing to Valdosta, they never moved down to AAAA, they stood their ground, fought and became winners. Valdosta too, can come back.
Chris, your article on the Dome is wonderful. The GHSA Sports Association is making a mistake. By the time Lowndes got to play, you couldn’t sit by your family because the seats were so sticky with food and soda spill. You can’t greet your team after the game. It was a bad experience. We need to stay where we are.
Thanks to Dr. Samuel Clemons and the Jazz Band from Lowndes Middle School for an enjoyable Christmas social at the conference center. I am proud to be a member of the Lowndes Middle School family.
I am in agreement with the rant from Dec. 26th: You do wait in the waiting room at the hospital only to get to the back to wait again and have people ignore you. What was the point of rebuilding the ER if services have gotten worse?
Those wonderful cornish pasties can be found at Two friends Cafe’ at Summit Pointe. Ask for Graham Elliot
A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the sticky fingers who snatched my electric leaf blower out of my yard on Cat Creek Road.
Has anybody out there received their new 2008 phone book? I never received mine.
I would like to rave about David and Lorena Clyatt of Ahhh David’s Catering and Flowers. For years they have been taking flowers to the area nursing homes. Thank you for taking flowers and remembering area nursing homes.
The VSU fence looks fine.
It’s OK to like football or soccer. Free country.
