Area students graduate from Piedmont University
DEMOREST — Piedmont University congratulates the 168 students who completed degree requirements during the fall 2023 semester.

Piedmont’s Vice President for Academic Affairs Bruce Willis addressed the graduates during a commencement ceremony held Friday, Dec. 15, in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center on the Demorest campus.
Area graduates included:
- Patricia McCrae of Valdosta, earned the MAT in Special Education degree.
- Issa Young of Valdosta, earned the EDS in Music Education degree.
Brooks earns Piedmont University dean’s list honor
DEMOREST — Ileynaret Brooks of Valdosta is among the nearly 270 Piedmont University students who earned a GPA of 3.50-3.99 to qualify for the dean’s list for the fall 2023 semester.

Angelo State University announces Fall 2023 graduates
SAN ANGELO, Texas — Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, conferred 625 undergraduate and graduate degrees on 620 graduates during the 2023 fall commencement exercises on Dec. 16 at the ASU Junell Center/Stephens Arena.

- Jonathan Blanton of Valdosta: Master of Science in Global Security Studies.

University of North Georgia announces president’s list
DAHLONEGA — University of North Georgia (UNG) President Michael P. Shannon recognized students who achieved a 4.0 GPA during the fall 2023 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor’s degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the president’s Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree or dual enrollment programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the president’s list.

University of North Georgia announces dean’s lists
DAHLONEGA — The deans of each of UNG’s colleges announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2023.
Dean’s list recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B. Dean’s list honorees included:

DEMOREST — Laurana Layton of Valdosta, is among the nearly 270 Piedmont University students who earned a GPA of 3.50-3.99 to qualify for the dean’s list for the fall 2023 semester.
Area residents make Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University
AMERICUS — The following local residents made the Fall 2023 Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 701 students recognized for scholastic achievement.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.
