Schedule announced for Charles Cooper Invitational

VALDOSTA — The Charles Cooper Invitational tips off Monday, Nov. 25 at the Lowndes High gym with 12 big games over two days.
Monday’s slate begins at 2 p.m. with Colquitt County’s boys. against Leon County (Florida). The Lady Packers play Thomas County Central at 3:30 p.m. Next is an all-Florida boys matchup between Episcopal and Rickards at 5 p.m. Lowndes will take the floor in the final two games, the VIkettes against Leon (Florida) at 6:30 and Cypress Creek (Florida) against the Vikings at 8 p.m.
Tuesday starts with a JV boys game between Lowndes and Episcopal at 11 a.m.
Thomas County Central takes on Lincoln (Florida) in a girls game at 12:30 p.m.; Cypress Creek versus Episcopal boys at 2 p.m.; Colquitt takes on Leon’s girls at 3:30; Rickards boys against Colquitt at 5; Lee County and the Vikettes at 6:30 and Leon’s boys against the Vikings at 8 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person.
The Invitational’s honoree, Cooper, coached both the Vikings and Vikettes. Lowndes won four state championships under Cooper and had a stretch of 122 consecutive victories. His coaching stops also included Valdosta State, Brooks County and Morven.
