VALDOSTA — Lowndes High will host two big track and field meets over the next few days. Harmon’s Invitational is Saturday, followed by the Hiram Johnson 7th Annual Underclassman Invitational on March 26. Not to be outdone, Valdosta has the Wildcat Invitational coming March 28.
Harmon’s Invitational will actually not use the Lowndes campus. The Vikings have announced this meet will instead be at Cook High. Likewise, the Hiram Johnson meet has been moved, but this event will be at Valdosta High.
The list of teams signed up to attend Harmon’s Invitational is a long one. Locals Valdosta and Highland Christian are to participate, as naturally is Cook. Fellow Region 1-6A schools Colquitt County and Tift County will serve as one of many previews for the upcoming conference meet.
Two Florida schools will be here, as well as Georgia teams from as far away as Columbus and Hinesville.
Lowndes’ last big meet was the Christian Coleman Invitational at Westlake High in Atlanta last week.
