On Saturday, April 12, the Girls on the Run Spring 2025 5K, hosted at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, brought together more than 800 participants, families and supporters to celebrate a season filled with growth, empowerment and community.

This event was a powerful reminder of the impact of community, as girls crossed the finish line with newfound confidence and pride. Through the program, they learned valuable life skills, built lasting friendships, and discovered their own strength.

Adding to the celebration, academic programs from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College lined the course to cheer on the girls and hand out department-themed stickers. Their presence offered inspiration and sparked curiosity about the wide range of career paths available—encouraging girls to dream big and explore future possibilities.

“We are incredibly proud of every girl who participated, and so grateful to our community for supporting them every step of the way,” said Mary Crawford, chief executive officer of Girls on the Run South Georgia. “This 5K celebrated their hard work, determination, and the friendships they’ve made along the way.”

The organization offered its heartfelt thanks to Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, as well as all of the donors, volunteers, and supporters who made this event — and the entire season — possible.
