MOULTRIE, Ga. — Boys & Girls Clubs of Moultrie/Colquitt County held its 7th Annual Founders Banquet on Thursday, May 12, at Colquitt County High School. Highlighting this year’s banquet success were the club’s 2016 Youth of the Year, Eyona Moore, and guest speaker Jeremy Pruitt, defensive coordinator for Alabama Crimson Tide.   .

Through the club’s Annual Founders Banquets, the organization seeks to ensure that every child and teen has access to a safe place afterschool and during the summer where they can build the knowledge, skills and behaviors to put them on the path for success, the club said in a press release. “The way a child spends their time out of school and during the summer can significantly impact the path they take,” the club said.

Jim Matney, executive board member, stressed the importance of investing in the lives of young people through the Boys & Girls Clubs and the positive impact the investment has made by decreasing juvenile crime by almost 45 percent. With the community’s continued support, Boys & Girls Clubs of Moultrie/Colquitt County can fulfill its goal of “Serving more children more often,” Matney said.

The Boys & Girls Clubs have served Moultrie and Colquitt County with afterschool and summer programs since June 1, 2009, and has seen the positive impact that occurs when young people have access to a safe place with caring adult professionals and enriching programs during out-of-school time. This year’s Theme is ‘Investing Today for a Better Tomorrow.” Pledge cards can be obtained from www.bgcmoultrie.org and clicking the pledge card tab.
